Important Caveats
- Station vs kit is the number-one price trap. Twelve of the fourteen prices above are for the station alone; only the Jackery HomePower 3000 (2× 200W panels) and the Anker SOLIX C800X kit (1× 100W panel) include solar. A usable panel adds roughly $150-$250 for 100W or $300-$450 for 200W at street prices, so a “$359 solar generator” is realistically a $500-$600 system. Always confirm what a listing includes before comparing prices.

- Panel wattage is a rating, not an output. Plan on roughly 70% of nameplate in good sun, and less in heat, haze, or at a poor angle. Manufacturer solar-recharge times assume direct sunlight, correct panel angle and 25°C ambient — real-world charging is typically 20-40% slower.
- Check the MPPT window and connector before buying a third-party panel. Most units here use XT60 (EcoFlow’s high-current variant is XT60i). Low-voltage windows (11-60V on the Anker F3800, 16-60V on the Jackery Explorer 1500 v2) rule out long rigid-panel strings; the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3’s 30-150V port is the exception on this table.
- “Solar generator” is an industry marketing term. These are portable battery power stations that can be charged by solar panels, not generators in the traditional sense.
- Weight matters for portability. Units over 50 lbs are practical only for stationary or vehicle-based use. For backpacking or hiking, only the sub-25 lb models are feasible.
- Expandable capacity requires purchasing additional batteries at $500-$2,000+ each — frequently a worse cost per watt-hour than the base unit.
- This is an emergency/backup purchase, not an energy-savings one. At U.S. residential electricity rates a 2kWh station cycled daily displaces only a few cents of grid power per cycle; the payback horizon on a $849 unit is measured in decades. Buy one for outage resilience, off-grid capability or job-site convenience — not to lower a power bill.
- The Jackery Explorer 1500 Ultra listed on this card in June 2026 has been out of stock on Amazon for over five weeks and has been replaced here by the in-stock Explorer 1500 v2. The station-only Anker SOLIX C800X likewise went unavailable and is represented by the C800X + 100W panel kit.
